Health & Life Sciences Project: 3D Photonic Scanning of the Offshore Workforce Human Computer Interaction (HCI) Project: Augmenting Cultural Collections and Historic Sites through Visual Interfaces Body measurements of UK offshore workforce have previously relied on manual anthropometry. A 19% mean weight gain since the mid-1980s means larger individuals, although the precise dimensions remain unknown. Portable 3D scanning has enabled such data to be acquired reliably, cost effectively and remotely, which will inform future size and space-related design. Dr Arthur D. Stewart Robert Gordon University Uta Hinrichs University of St Andrews Project: Smart Solutions for Connected Health The major impact that the increasing prevalence of diseases and resources used per patient have on the health systems motivates a great effort in the development of personalised integrated solutions for reliable, secure and real-time e-health service delivery at homes and remote locations. New developments in this field are presented including embedded intelligent fall detection systems, automatic diagnosis support engines, and navigation tools. Dr. Pablo Casaseca University of the West of Scotland Project: WorkflowFM: A formal modelling framework for healthcare WorkflowFM is a framework for the modelling and automatic deployment of systematic, formally verified workflows of healthcare processes. Using an integrated logical engine, WorkflowFM guarantees various important properties such as consistency, continuity, systematic resource accounting, information governance, and guideline enforcement, thereby improving medical staff efficiency and patient safety. Petros Papapanagiotou University of Edinburgh Cultural institutions carry rich collections of information. However, on-site, that is, at the museum or on a historic location, only a fraction of this information is visible. In collaboration with the University Museum of St Andrews (MUSA) and Historic Scotland, we explore how we can make use of interactive technology to make large historic and cultural collections available and explorable.
