Project: Design and exploration of exergames to prevent falls in the elderly
Rehabilitation has been shown to significantly reduce the risk of
falling in older adults. However, low adherence to rehabilitation
exercises in the home means that seniors often do not get the
therapy that they require. We designed exergames with older
adults and trialled them in the home for 12 weeks. The results
show positive outcomes of exercise adherence and functional
mobility and balance.
