SICSA Funding Opportunities SICSA has a number of funding opportunities to facilitate engagement between early career researchers and industry that we would love you to take advantage of. DEMOfest is a fantastic opportunity to network and make the necessary connections to get these engagements going so take a look at the schemes in advance so you know just how to take advantage of opportunities that may arise from the night. Further information on the schemes can be found at www.sicsa.ac.uk/funding, with SICSA representatives available to discuss in more detail on the night. SICSA Funding Opportunities Early Career Industry Fellowship Step outside of academia and work on a collaborative project with industry for a year, or two year’s part time. Change your environment, gain different perspectives and experience new cultures with this once in a lifetime opportunity. SICSA will fund salary, research and travel costs up to a maximum of £35,000. Applicants must be within 7 years of completing their PhD and priority will be given to Co-funded applications. There will be an annual funding call on 30 November. Postgraduate Industry Internship Intern at any company, anywhere in the world for up to 9 months gaining valuable work experience and contributing to real business problems. SICSA will part fund students stipends whilst on placement and offers travel and accommodation subsidies. Placements will be for 3-6 months with the organisation followed by a 1-3 month period of dissemination at the home institution. Funding calls are held on 28 February; 30 April; 30 June; 31 October. Proof of Concept All ideas need to start somewhere but getting them off the ground can be hard. Give yours the best chance of success with a proof of concept grant for R&D, product testing or market research. SICSA will award up to £10,000 per grant. Applications may be submitted in conjunction with an industry partner, but it is not a requirement. Applicants must be within 7 years of completing their PhD. Funding calls are held on 28 February; 30 June; 31 October.
