PROJECTS

Thank you to all who donated or supported the Projects and
International Awareness and Involvement Sustainability Project.
Sorors along with people from the community came to the
African Market and Restaurant to taste an African cuisine of
cassava leaves, fish and chicken over rice, Nigerian style
chicken, jollof rice, plantain, and fried red snapper. Everyone sat
as a family and fellowshipped while enjoying “A Taste of Africa.”
If you would still like to donate to our Sustainability Project please
contact Soror April Coleman or Soror Lisa Sykes.
On Sunday, February 17, 2019 the
Jacksonville Alumnae Chapter
partnered with the Omicron Beta
Chapter of Edward Waters College
to present “Traffik—A Viewing and
Discussion Event”
about Human Trafficking.
Members of the community, students
and sorors were enlightened with a
viewing of
the movie Traffik, starring Paula Patton.
After the
movie, local Anti-Trafficking expert Silvia Almond provided the attendees with an overview of real-life
cases, her experience in spotting someone who is involved in trafficking, and what attendees could do
to help prevent this national crisis from getting worse.
If you, or someone you know could be in danger call the National Human Trafficking Hotline at
888-373-7888.
