Wilder Lynn Williams Executive Director Anne Harper Deputy Director & Chief Development Officer Joanne McGeoch Letter from our Directors The return of summer ushers in bustling activity at our sites and preserves – from droves of happy summer campers deeply immersed in nature exploration – to our farmers spending long days tending and harvesting delicious produce from our farm fields – summer is a time to enjoy and reflect on the abundance of nature! In this issue of Nature’s View, our feature Growing from the Ground Up highlights exciting progress on the last few years of planning for Coverdale Farm Preserve. We discuss implementing organic and regenerative agriculture practices, and our work with regional and national experts, putting us on the leading edge in agricul- ture here in Delaware and beyond. In The Simpler Life, we emphasize the pressing need to save and protect lands in Delaware and share the story of one conservation easement holder’s work to restore and protect land. In Growing up Outside, we recognize Erynn DeGennaro, a rising leader at Dela- ware Nature Society, whose experiences in nature shaped her desire to give back and inspire others to get involved. Finally, our work would not be nearly as impactful if it weren’t for the grassroots community organizing efforts on important environmental issues that affect us all. From the Clean Water for Delaware Act to The Plastic Bag Ban, voices of our advocates are being heard and responded to by leadership in our state. There is truly no better time to get involved and join our movement of conser- vationists to ensure that nature’s abundance is not only enjoyed, but ensured, for future generations.
