In memory of
Doris M. Billingsley
In June 2013, a new picnic pavilion at Ashland Nature Center was dedicated
to Doris M. Billingsley, a long time volunteer guide. The project was funded
by her husband, Jack, in her memory to honor her love of nature and
passion for teaching children about nature. The dedication sign invites
visitors to “Explore, Learn and Discover the Sense of Wonder in Nature”.
The new pavilion provides shelter from the sun, wind and rain for visitors
and program participants to the center.
