Quianna Daniels-Smart , LSW , MSW , is a passionate advocate for community empowerment and social justice . Her dedication to uplifting others is evident through her active involvement in various community initiatives throughout the Philadelphia area . Quianna brings her expertise and commitment to multiple organizations , where she strives to make a positive impact . She holds a master ’ s degree in Social Work with a specialization in Trauma-Informed Care from PennWest Edinboro . Currently , Quianna serves as an educational developer at Sacred Heart University , a mid-sized private university , while pursuing her doctoral studies . Her research focuses on exploring how faculty learning communities can drive institutional change , with a special emphasis on integrating antiracism principles to improve the retention and sense of belonging of Black and brown students .

Teaching and Reaching with Comics / Graphic Novels Comics and graphic novels serve as powerful societal artifacts that represent the global community around us . This medium has shown important growth in representation and genres . Students become emotionally invested when reading these resources as they grow into analytical readers and writers in an exciting and high interest manner . In this session , successful lessons and ideas that can be integrated in any grade level the very next day will be shared .
