Plank 13” x 25.5” x 4” Collage, found cardboard 2013 Babette Herschberger 38 My “Construction Series” is a practice utilizing informal materials such as found cardboard, product packaging, etc. With a focus on minimal composition, process, surface and color, I work to transform the banality of the original materials into a complex intersection of plane and form. O ften these pieces are used as maquettes for considerably larger works. This work aims in every way to become a graphic distillation of my longstanding painting practice.
