ANTONIUS ROBERTS Untitled Wood sculpture 29.5 x 4 x 7 From the Collection of Rosie Gordon-Wallace Antonius Roberts was born in Nassau, Bahamas. His ethos connecting man’s spiritual and emotional nature and nature itself, and his desire to record and honor Bahamian heritage, is inherent in all of his paintings and sculpture. Choices of materials, locations, and historical references are essential to his creative process, and are vital to his ongoing celebration of his identity and historical heritage. He does this by using indigenous materials and locating the installations, where possible, in places of historical significance. Thus the past is recorded, re-created and remembered as a living historical record of Bahamian heritage. www.antoniusroberts.com/artist Antonius Roberts at the first Sacred Space installation at Clifton Pier.
