Talking about money is a tough topic for me. The irony is that I work in financial services. When
I was growing up, discussions about money only happened between Mom and Dad behind closed
doors. My brother and I didn’t receive any instructions or mentoring from my folks about money or
finances. Consequently, I didn’t know much about money-related topics until much later in life. It
turns out that my experience may not be much different from other Latinos.
