work , participating in class discussions , and responding to teacher questions . If students are not actively participating ( completing coursework , responding to verbal comments , or posting in the chat when prompted ), the teacher will contact the students ’ parents / guardians . Students are required to have their cameras on for attendance . Students are encouraged to blur their backgrounds . Students who do not actively participate or comply with classroom expectations will not receive credit for the classroom period .
2 . Students only . Virtual classes are designed for students . While some students may need assistance with logging in , parents and guardians should not observe or actively participate in virtual classes . Siblings and other students not included on the class roster may not join a virtual class .
3 . Privacy . Confidential or personally identifiable information related to students must not be collected , discussed , posted , or shared . Students should not record ( video or audio ), photograph , live stream , or transmit in any other way any part of a virtual class . 4 . Appropriate Attire . Appropriate attire is expected from all participants while live-streaming . 5 . Appropriate Behavior . Use chat only for appropriate lesson-specific discussion . Student backgrounds and icons must be appropriate , respectful , and not distracting . Please be mindful of what is in view on the camera behind the participant and take care to choose a location with an appropriate background , if possible . If this is not possible , please consider using the feature that blurs the student ’ s background .
6 . Eliminating background noise . When possible , students are encouraged to use a headset or headphones ( if this is something they own ) while participating in videoconferencing , especially if they are in a noisy space or a room with other individuals .

Fundraisers

• PJ Day at JFK proved to be a successful fundraiser . We had many students and educators participate in this important fundraiser . Funds were deposited with Enfield PTO ; please consider donating HERE . JFK PJ Day Slideshow
• This year , Jane ’ s Team is offering a Santa phone fundraiser . Geared toward our younger ones , if you provide some basic information , Santa will make a phone call to spread some holiday cheer . Each call is $ 5 . Please find the form here : Santa Hotline .
• JFK PTO facilitates many fundraisers throughout the year . All of these fundraisers directly benefit JFK students . Please take some time to peruse their website : JFK PTO Website .

Snowman Challenge

As outlined in our November newsletter , we are looking to challenge our school community when we receive some snow in our area . We hope you will join us in decorating a snowman with as much JFK school spirit as possible . All submissions must be made utilizing your child ’ s EPS-issued email account . Submissions will be posted on our school Twitter account using the hashtag # JFKsnowmanchallenge . All submissions can be made HERE .
