Senior UCAS Applications
Mrs Cooper wanted to say well done to our S6 students this term for all their efforts completing their UCAS applications .
This year 86 seniors are applying to UCAS and the guidance team , Gemma Fraser ( Skills Development Scotland ) and staff are so proud and want to wish them all good luck at this exciting time in planning their next steps in their career journey .
Big congratulations to students who have and are receiving offers already .
College applications should be ready and live January / February - guidance staff and Gemma Fraser our Skills Development advisor will keep students up to date and will offer any support required .
Halloween Writing Competition

On the 13th of November , myself and Lucy Quinn went to the library to interview Miss Owens . On the week leading up to Halloween , Miss Owens set up a competition for S1s and 2s to write a scary story to scare her . After many entries , she chose Sophie Abbott as the winner . Sophie ’ s prize was a brandnew book and lots of Halloween goodies . The two runner ups , Ryan Blackwood and Cleo Murray also won some Halloween sweeties .
Miss Owens ’ favourite author is Marcus Sedgwick . Her favourite book ( which was a tough decision to make ) is Watership Down and her favourite from the last five years has been The Night Circus . She loves to read is dystopian novels which are books that look into the future where a lot of bad things are happening . Miss Owens ’ day is very busy , and she does a bit of everything including the online book orders , updates the school website and twitter pages and does the hand sanitizers at the doors at lunchtimes .
Miss Owens has set up a Microsoft Teams page for S1-S3 pupils so they can order books using Forms . S4s-S6s use QR codes . Even if you aren ’ t wanting a book from the library , she would still like you all to complete the form stating which book you are reading from home and home many pages you have read so far .
