WILL INCENTIVE AND DESCENDANT REMINDER Will Incentive Program Reminder In 2018, OC rolled out a Stock Will Incentive program, which provides a one-time payout of $100 to shareholders who submit a valid Stock Will Form or general Last Will and Testament stating who their shares should be left to. This is an important initiative for OC, as it saves the corporation money, but it also ensures that shareholders’ stocks are distributed according to their wishes when they pass away. To submit a will form, more information, or assistance with your will, contact Rachel Jolliffe at: 907-581-1276, or [email protected] OC needs to collect this information to improve communications, provide information on opportunities and activities, and aid the Edna P. McCurdy Foundation in establishing eligibility for scholarships (as of 2019 the Edna P. McCurdy Foundation requires descendants who are not currently a shareholder of OC to register as a descendant to be eligible for funding). Another incentive: quarterly prize drawings are conducted from the list of all confirmed descendants! Attention OC Descendants! Your completed application, with all required documents, should be returned to: Are you the child, grandchild, great-grandchild, etc., of a voting shareholder? Register your information with OC today! Those already enrolled as OC shareholders do not need to re-enroll. Shareholder Records: Ounalashka Corporation P.O. This great accomplishment could not have been done without your support -- and I truly mean that. Thank you for assisting me the last four years with the Edna P. Scholarship, including several flights to and from home. I cannot tell you how big of an impact this made on my life, as it propelled me towards my goals. I am back in Unalaska for now, but will be heading out in January for the Peace Corps. I have been recruited to serve as a Community Health Educator in Ethiopia, and will spend the next 2 and a half years working abroad. I believe this experience will help build my program planning skills, serving diverse communities, and becoming a compassionate educator. Although Ethiopia is my next adventure, my ultimate goal is to come back home and serve as a community health advocate for the Unangan people of Unalaska. Thank you again for showing me continuous support and giving me the confidence to go after my goals. OC’S DECEMBER 2019 NEWSLETTER 5
