We hold first Charbonneau Pickleball Exhibition
On Nov. 2, Charbonneau Sports Center held its first ever Pro Pickleball Exhibition match. Thanks to Charbonneau’ s pro, Donna Roisom, for organizing this incredible event! The four local players really put on a great show! They briefly went over the rules and demonstrated drills, skill showcases and match play. They even included audience participation where the audience had to try and hit a target while serving. These four ladies were truly impressive to watch as they got to every ball in quick moves and rarely missed a shot. Here is a little information on each of them.
Jen Tuttle
Born and raised in the Bay Area, she spent her childhood playing soccer, softball and judo. Soccer quickly became her main passion and took her to the University of Portland, where she was part of the 2005 NCAA National Championship team.
These days, she coaches both at the club and high school levels. When she is not on the soccer pitch, you’ ll find her on the pickleball courts. Since picking up a paddle in May 2023, Jen has been all in! She loves the competition, camaraderie and constant challenge to improve. The opportunity to laugh with friends while competing is what keeps her coming back to the game. Jen says it is an honor to share the court with Kari, Ashley and Lisa.
Lisa Hanna
She was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, and has always loved calling this beautiful place home. Growing up, Lisa spent countless hours on the tennis court, becoming a two-time state champion and earning a scholarship to play Division I tennis. The sport taught her discipline, determination and the value of hard work. These qualities have shaped every part of her life.
She is a proud mom of four amazing kids— three daughters and one son, who are truly her greatest joy. Family means everything to Lisa and that has guided the way she approaches both life and business.
Lisa has been in real estate for over 33 years and still loves what she does every single day. Helping people find a place to call home and guiding them through one of life’ s biggest decisions is something she never takes for granted. Lisa is also a real estate investor and enjoys discovering opportunities to create something special in every property.
When she is not working, you can usually find her on the pickleball court! Lisa loves the fast pace of the game and, even more, the friendships and community that come with it.
Ashley Robinson
Ashley comes to pickleball from a decorated volleyball background. As a player, Ashley led her team to an Oregon State title and was a two-time first-team All-State selection, a high school All-American and a Prep Volleyball Top 250 pick.

She competed in the PAC-10 as a four-year letter winner as a setter and defensive specialist at Oregon State University and was a team captain and a top-10 single-season and career record-holder for assists and digs.
Ashley has 18-plus years of experience coaching individual athletes and teams both locally and on a national stage, including bringing another state title to her alma mater in 2021. Ashley’ s recent pivot in 2021 to pickleball propelled her to instant success as the 2021, 4.5, 19 +, Women’ s Doubles( with her partner / mother Kari Evans 62 yrs old at the time) national champions. She since has competed in the last five years at USA Pickleball Nationals and has finished in the top 8 in the 4.5 and 5.0 in women’ s and mixed doubles every single year.
Her natural coaching style has made her a strong ambassador of pickleball for athletes of all ages and experience levels at youth and adult clinics in the Pacific Northwest.
Kari Evans
Kari has raised four kids, has 14
grandchildren and started playing tennis at 48 after her children were grown. At age 50, she began playing USTA starting at the 4.5 level and competed at Nationals. At 60, she started playing pickleball during the pandemic and hasn’ t touched a tennis ball since. Ashley( daughter) and Kari had no idea of the rules, the strategy or what the heck they were doing and on a whim entered a regional pickleball tournament and won a gold medal. It’ s been up, up, up for them ever since! Kari is having a blast, traveling all over competing, earning lots of tourney wins and having a whole lot of fun!
The first tourney that Ash & Kari entered was the NW Pacific Coast Regionals qualifier tourney( included Idaho, Washington, Oregon and Alaska) and the gold medal winners got what they called a“ golden ticket” into Nationals. So that’ s when they got serious and learned how to play pickleball so they wouldn’ t look ridiculous. They won nationals that year at the Indian Wells Tennis Center. Level 4.5, 19 + age bracket, pretty good for a 62-year-old!
