Step 45 You should now have 2 tube shaped ’ candle ’ pieces . Set these aside .
Step 46 Pipe a big dot of white icing in the centre of one of the size 1 base squares . The dot should be big enough to allow the ‘ candle ’ to sit in the middle with a little extra all the way around to hold it up . Place one of the ‘ candles ’ in the centre of the icing and check that it ’ s straight . Repeat with the second base and other ‘ candle ’.
Step 47 Use the gold icing to pipe a dot on top of each candle , pulling up as you release , to give it a little tail ( to mimic a ‘ flame ’). Practice on the cellophane sheet until you ’ re happy with the shape , then move onto your ‘ candles ’. Double check that the ‘ candles ’ are still standing straight ( turn the base around and check it from all sides and from the top ). Once you ’ re happy with how they look , set them aside to dry .
