For Joseph Molina Flynn , his law firm is a labor of love . He and his husband , Christopher , the firm ’ s manager , returned to Rhode Island after Joseph graduated from the University of Michigan Law School . More than six years later , they now employ Joseph ’ s mother , brother , and sister-in-law , as well as Stephanie Gonzalez , a 2021 graduate of the Roger Williams Law School . Joseph has developed a reputation as a fierce advocate for immigrant rights . He was born in Medellin , Colombia , and moved to Rhode Island at the age of nine . He was an undocumented immigrant until the age of twenty-four , and his personal immigration experience informs the firm ’ s ethos . Joseph has been recognized by his peers as an Up & Coming attorney in the Rhode Island Lawyers Weekly ’ s inaugural Excellence in the Law awards in 2019 and for the past three years in this publication ’ s Professional Excellence in the Law awards .
