The September issue of Rhode Island Monthly profiled the fourteen individuals and one team who were selected as top in their profession in the 2021 Excellence in Nursing Awards . Presented in partnership with the Rhode Island State Nurses Association , the nurses were honored at a special reception at Kirkbrae Country Club to celebrate their achievements . Guests enjoyed champagne and hors d ’ oeuvres , a live jazz trio , photo opportunities for the magazine and remarks from special guest Governor Daniel McKee . The presenting sponsors of this year ’ s event were The Cedars , University of Rhode Island : College of Nursing and the Rhode Island Association of Nurse Anesthetists .
