Unlike lyric poetry that focuses on emotions, narrative poetry's main focus is the plot. Some poets even incorporate certain elements of narrative into their lyrical poems and vice versa. Narrative poetry can present a series of events through dialogue and action. Traditional narrative poetry may include ballads as well. India produced two monumental Sanskrit narratives entitled "The Mahabharata" and "Ramayana" "The Mahabharata" had over 100,000 couplets. The "Ramayana" is a timeless narrative poem. It spreads the culture and ideas of India across Asia. That influenced Asian literature, performance, and architecture.
Ballads and Narratives are two other forms of poetry I enjoy incorporating into my work. Whether it be one, the other or both, I enjoy being able to use these forms of poetry to tell stories while also expressing thoughts and emotions.

& Narrative
Narrative poems are a longer form of poetry. They tell an entire story with a beginning, middle and end. They have the same elements and a fully written story (character, plot, etc.) and are usually told by one speaker/narrator. Some narrative poems are written in blank verse (iambic pentameter with no rhyme), Some have a formal rhyme scheme ABCB (second and fourth lines rhyme).
An example of Narrative poetry is The Charge of the Light Brigade by Alfred Tennyson.
