WW Custom Products was started by Pete Whitting-
ton in 2016, in an effort to establish a new method
for collecting, storing, and disposing of broken golf
tees using a tray attached to the dashboard of the
golf cart. The only other options at the time were to
leave the broken tees on the tee box, throw them in
the cart somewhere, put them back in your pocket,
or bend down and place them in a small box sitting
near the tee marker, if there was one.
There was nothing that effectively covered every
tee box on every hole. A lot of tee boxes looked
like a broken tee graveyard. There were no good
options until Pete designed this golf cart dash tray
that was removable. Players could easily place all
their broken tees in the tray and collect them until
the end of the round. The maintenance staff then
could easily remove the tray, empty the contents,
and replace the tray. Players just had to make the
effort to pick up their broken tees and put them

in the tray. This tray eliminated the need for any
small containers on the tee box, it eliminated the
hassle of trying to get the tees out from a cart
compartment, and you didn’t have to keep them in
your pocket. My first sale was to a golf course that
bought them because they wanted nice looking
tee boxes. It was a pain for the staff to clean the
carts. The tray made it so much easier for the
players and the maintenance to deal with this
problem.
The trays today are bigger than the original trays
but serve the same purpose if players and cours-
es would use them. They now can also store your
phone, rangefinder, golf balls, and most any other
small item that you need easy access to.
With the increased the size of the tray, it does
open its use up to other golf cart owners and cart
dealers who want to add convenient and easily
accessible storage space to their custom carts.
