GINGERBREAD BAZAAR WINNERS The Top of the Common Committee is pleased to announce the winners of the Lunenburg Gingerbread Bazaar free door prizes, contests, and raffles. The free door prizes were awarded as follows: Eunice Levesque - $20 Gift Certificate to Riff Flower Shop of Lancaster and Carla Amadon - $10 Gift Certificate to North Country Family Restaurant of Groveton. Some great cookie stacking attempts were made by visitors of all ages. The winners in the categories through age 12 were each awarded a personal pan pizza donated by Pizza Hut. The winners are: Jocelyn Blais (under age 4), Lilliy Blaise (ages 4-6), Aidan Brundle (ages 7-9), Scotty Black (10-12), and Hannah Showalter (13 - adult) was awarded a $5 gift certificate to The Bake Shoppe at Morning Star Acres. The Gingerbread Creation Contest entries were outstanding. People’s Choice winners: beginner category – first place to Faith LaPage, second place to Ashley and Giles Bean. The Lunenburg Historical Society raffle winners were Sandra Cronin – pair of decorative reindeer and a quart of maple syrup, donated by Macie Sugarhouse, and Gibb McLain – decorative Mr. and Mrs. Claus, donated by Judy Young. COOKSHIRE CHRISTMAS CRAFT SHOW A while ago, Celine Blais, president of “Cookshire in Action,” decided that she would try to organize a Christmas craft show at the Henry Pope Cultural Center in Cookshire. She put out the word, and before long the calls were coming in from local crafts people wanting to get in on the show. This past Saturday and Sunday, the Cultural Center swung open its doors and welcomed in the public to its first ever but certainly not the last show at this historic location. We arrived Sunday morning to find about ten local artisans displaying their handmade crafts for all to see. The show included Sonia Zalesack from Bulwer and her handcrafted jewellery, Carole-Ann Savoie and her crafts,and Madeleine Labonte and her husband Daniel from Sawyerville with their pottery, paintings and wool felt art, plus many other talented artists and craftspeople from the area.
