As Deadtide sought to assemble a worthy lineup following the release of
“Ephemeral,” Mike & Phil continued to stay busy with writing, posting, growing
their following and reach, and other metal-related labors to keep active until
returning to the stage. It's worth noting that Mike, who writes everything vocal
and lyrical for the band, was also featured with metal-guitarmaster Marios
Iliopoulos from Nightrage after competing for and winning the spot as the
vocalist on fellow melodeath band Dawn of Dreams' track, “Forever.” His vocal
style on it is not far off from Deadtide's track “Stargazer Syndrome,” which has
been described as “epic.”
The band's debut EP album Ephemeral has over 85k plays on Youtube, and the
newest EP The Great Unknown (self-recorded) about to hit 30k and rising. Their
music video for the studio-recorded single “Begin the Dream” from late 2017 has
over 30k views.
The band has been active since 2009. After achieving a full, permanent lineup in
late 2015, Deadtide has been performing again in the NYC/NY/NJ/CT metal
scene, and has opened for popular metal acts including Soilwork, Fear Factory,
Doyle (The Misfits), Abnormality, Through the Eyes of the Dead, Powerman
5000, The Absence, Exmortus, and more.
Presently, the band is performing live at venues in New York and New Jersey,
saturating the area with the soundwaves of the Deadtide. Following excellent
responses from venues and promoters, Deadtide has been jumping at all invites
and opportunities to tear up stages at metal shows wherever and whenever they
can. The bigger, the better! Most recently, the band has recorded a new single in
the studio for a music video they will be
shooting in September of 2018. In addition to
the songs from the 2017 demo, new songs for a
full concept album to be recorded in studio are
in the works. The fans deserve a taste of what's
to come as they wait for Deadtide's next sonic
conquest, and pieces of the blueprint are now
available for the ears of headbangers all across
the world.
