AD : WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO PURSUE A CAREER IN DESIGN ?
GABRIEL : From an early age , I was interested in architecture . Even without anyone in my environment dedicated to it , I ’ ve always wanted to be an architect . I still have house designs that I made when I was barely 10 years old . My first reference , of course , was my mother . Her attention to even the most minute details of our home fascinated me to no end . When I started studying design , my heroes were the great architects of the modern and postmodern movement .
Once I started working in the world of interiors , I found my idols in contemporary Spanish designers that I got to work with like Pascua Ortega , Carlos Langdon , Teresa Cordero . Essentially , it did not take much for architecture and interiors to become my passion , and it also helped that I had a family who encouraged me and helped me to make my young dreams come true . I consider myself a very lucky person , as I have spent my whole life pursuing what I love the most- travel and design .
AD : IN A FEW WORDS , HOW WOULD YOU DEFINE YOUR DESIGN PROCESS – PHILOSOPHY AT BONITO DESIGNS ?
GABRIEL : The most important part of my design process is to understand the customer requirements . Their likes and dislikes , their dreams , the elements which make them happy .
Ours is a customer-centric design company and the five pillars of our design philosophy are :
- Simplicity - Functionality - Innovation - Attention to detail - Sustainability
