TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PROJECT ? WHAT WAS THE CONCEPT BEHIND ITS DESIGN
INCEPTION ?
DEV & KAUSHIK : “ WHITE LOVE " an apartment located in
Hyderabad , India . This is a home to a humble three member family consisting of mother , father and their only son ; the family had been very clear about their requirement when it came to the interiors . All that they asked for in the home very particularly was the colour theme to be “ white ”. The home has a wonderful asset to boast about , an asset that magically raises the value of the home to another level .
Our aim was to capture the stunning views it has from indoors to outdoor . Spatially the layout is simple , and very functional . To be clutter free and easy to maintain was the other requirement . We achieved this simple requirement with the use of materials that were low maintenance .
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE DESIGN ELEMENT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS PROJECT ?
DEV & KAUSHIK : For a site that had the most exhilarating views on one side , the builder ’ s plan didn ’ t do any justice . What we went ahead to do was a complete re-planning of the layout . Walls were planned to be dismantled to open up to achieve the best of the views . What we finally achieved was something stunning .
The fabricated balconies in metal which were a retrofit , made a great asset to enjoy the views . We realised this home is going to be blessed with abundant natural light . At different times of the day the landscape looks different .
The light , the wind , the rain , all of these are going to be really special here . Our favourite element of deign in this project is definitely “ natural light ”.
