Working Effectively with Neurodivergent Groups Presenting with Alcohol or Substance Misuse Issues
One-day training – 23 October, Wimbledon
CDARS has developed a practical training programme for professionals who want to develop skills and build confidence in working with neurodivergent individuals in treatment or recovery for substance and / or alcohol misuse.
LEARN HOW TO Understand neurodiversity( autism, ADHD, learning & sensory differences). Recognise how neurodivergence impacts engagement, retention and outcomes in the treatment of drug and / or alcohol misuse. How to best adapt communication styles and engagement strategies to improve rapport, comprehension, and retention. Reflect on developing an individualised treatment plan for neurodivergent groups. Reflect on biases, strengths, and personal development plan to work effectively with neurodivergent groups.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND? Alcohol and substance misuse practitioners, counsellors, mental health staff, social workers, GPs, and anyone supporting neurodivergent clients.
