About Us

Commissioner ' s Greetings

Commissioner Nail
It is always a great honor to present an annual account of the great work being accomplished by the amazing men and women who comprise the Georgia Department of Community Supervision ( DCS .) I could not be more proud of the hardworking men and women who continually lend their efforts to make a difference and I remain humbled by the lives our work has positively impacted . Without a doubt , their dedication to public service is what makes it all possible .
Fiscal Year 2022 represented another year of evolution and advancement for DCS . We took the time to review processes and procedures to see how we can better serve the citizens of Georgia . Expanding upon supervision philosophy , successfully implementing engagement initiatives , and launching real-time data dashboards were significant accomplishments that pushed the DCS team forward this year .
Like any organization with a noble mission , challenges will occur . Fortunately for DCS , change is at the core of what we do and speaks to the heart of our mission . Undergirded by our Person-Centered Supervision Model , our officers and staff endeavor daily to bring about positive change in an individual ’ s life and to provide an opportunity for a successful outcome within the criminal justice system .
We recognize that this was not accomplished in the short term , or in a silo . Instead , we will continue to work with those who partner in our mission and vision . As such , please allow me to thank those key stakeholders who also helped make possible the meaningful information found in this report .
DCS continues to be recognized as a national leader in our profession and I truly believe that our best achievements are still ahead .
