Revocation Report In the simplest terms , our goal is to ensure that people do not return to prison or enter prison while serving a probated sentence . Each day , officers and staff are exhausting all alternatives to incarceration . Unfortunately , not every person is ready to embrace change . What ’ s more , oftentimes the context of revocations is conceptualized by prison data as opposed to data reflective and responsive to community supervision . Accordingly , the Department updated its Revocation Report and found that of the 198,490 individuals on probation for FY21 , only 1,289 had their sentence revoked to state prison . This represents only . 7 % of the total probation population and strongly indicates that our officers leverage justice with commonsense to ensure we are not burdening the resources of our prisons and jails .
