Cordin is also excited about her recent move to her new building, as her new space is flooded with natural light and has a unique space in which she can set up her store. She especially loves the wooden panels that were left behind by Old Pine Social, as they provide the perfect backdrop for hanging up art.
“ Those panels were the selling point when I came to look at it,” she said with a laugh.“ I thought they would be great for hanging the art rather than trying to hang paintings on steel walls.”
Deep Creek Gallery offers a wide variety of art from many different artists, including both paintings and photography by Cordin herself. There is woodworking available, pine needle baskets, custom bird homes, leather handbags and jewelry, just to name some of the items available at the gallery.
Cordin invites all to check out her new space, which she shares with the Quilted Buffalo.
As far as this summer’ s art show goes, Cordin hopes to make it an annual event, although she said she wants to get through the first show before making big plans for subsequent years.
She hopes the public will come support the show, and is confident those who do so will like what they see and hear— from the harp and bubbling of French Creek to the works of art.
“ It’ s all original art by the person who’ s present in each booth, and it’ s a beautiful setting,” she said.“ When Jerry said,‘ well, use my lawn,’ I thought‘ It couldn’ t be a better place.’”
