MPower UPS Awarded ISO 9001 Certification
MPower UPS, has been awarded
ISO 9001 2015 Certification.
Sharon Brooks, operations
director at MPower said, ‘ISO
9001 is the international
standard developed to specify
internal quality management
systems. We have held the ISO
9001 2008 certification for
several years and this covers
various operating processes.’
‘The ISO9001 2015 however, focuses more on threat identification, risk mitigation
and future planning with a particular focus on customer service, as well as managing the
needs and expectations of both employees, customers and suppliers.’
‘The process to gain certification is detailed and it took several months to develop
and produce the required documentation,’ continued Sharon. ‘We are delighted to
have been awarded the ISO 9001 2015 certification as it underlines our continued
commitment to providing the best possible service to our valued client base. By
providing documented evidence that all our management systems are in place and
are consistently fit for purpose, we anticipate the certification will help us attract new
c ustomers and expand further within the UPS marketplace.’

the Utilities Sector; Safe Contractor status; CIPS Sustainability Index and Carbon
Trust accreditation.

ISG wins £7.6 million Wellcome
Trust data centre scheme
ISG has secured an £7.6 million data centre project with global charitable
foundation, the Wellcome Trust at its Genome Campus in Hinxton,
Cambridgeshire. The Trust carries out cutting edge research into human and
animal health, and this scheme provides additional computing power and
enhanced network resilience at Wellcome’s world renowned campus.
ISG will build out the final quadrant of the existing on-site data centre, delivering
a new 1.2MW high density rack facility, with associated mechanical and electrical
infrastructure. As the Trust’s demand for increasing computing power rises, this
additional capacity is vital to assist research and development (R&D) operations.
The second element of the project provides greater power supply resilience to
the Trust’s core infrastructure. ISG will install a series of diesel rotary uninterruptible
power supply units (DRUPS) to provide secure and stable power to the data centre, as
well as installing new high voltage (HV) infrastructure across the campus.
Danny Blakeston, managing director of ISG’s Engineering Services business,
commented, ‘The demand for additional compute power and storage capacity,
combined with the certainty of mechanical and electrical systems resilience are
key drivers for Wellcome Trust, and our first project at the Genome Campus will
help address these core requirements.’
