Commvault , CloudWave Bring Streamlined Cloud Back up and Recovery to Healthcare Market

Commvault has announced that its Commvault Data Platform was selected by CloudWave to power its new OpSus Backup service . The new healthcare back upas-a-service ( BaaS ) offering – part of the OpSus Healthcare cloud services portfolio – enables healthcare organisations to quickly , easily and securely use the cloud to protect and recover mission critical application data .
By building the OpSus Backup service on Commvault ’ s comprehensive data management platform , CloudWave is able to deliver healthcare enterprises a fully managed back up service that cuts costs while minimising security , business continuity and regulatory compliance risks .
OpSus Backup supports healthcare enterprises ’ efforts to implement holistic data management strategies that allow them to protect , control and derive more value from all their data . OpSus Backup uses Commvault ’ s holistic data management platform to backup data on Tier 4 data centers , and encrypt data both in transit and at rest .
Both healthcare enterprise IT staff and CloudWave ’ s team of healthcare IT experts can use the service to initiate , monitor and maintain back up operations , as well as perform on-demand data restoration on secure landing zones .

Colt Data Centre Services adds 2,000m 2 of new capacity in London to meet rapid demand growth from cloud and colo markets

Colt Data Centre Services has announced the completion of four new data halls in its flagship London 3 data centre . The expansion responds to soaring demand from customers for its cloud hosting and colocation services in the London marketplace . The addition of 2,000m 2 of new colocation space adds an extra 6.4MW of IT capacity to the existing 12MW currently offered by the facility .
The facility now has 17 data halls in total , with an additional two halls already under construction to further expand its capacity this year . This latest expansion represents a 53 per cent increase in IT capacity offered at the facility . The London 3 data centre , which has been awarded the Uptime Institute ’ s Management & Operations Stamp of Approval , now provides a total power provision of 18.4MW .
This additional 2,000m 2 of space was delivered in under six months from design to delivery , a further 1,000m 2 of space is currently under construction and is due to be delivered in June 2017 . This will see the site grow to an impressive 11,000m 2 overall .

Adapt selected to provide managed hybrid cloud solutions to the NSPCC

The NSPCC has selected managed hybrid cloud service provider Adapt to deliver its core IT infrastructure , including voice and communication applications .
The NSPCC works to keep children safe from abuse . Adapt will implement a managed hybrid custom cloud solution to deliver the charity ’ s core IT and comms requirements , to support Childline , a service from the NSPCC , and the delivery of services such as web chats and text messaging .
The NSPCC will be using Adapt ’ s managed hybrid cloud solutions – its cloud integrator model that brings together its own platforms , public hyperscalers and legacy environments .
Ray Bilsby , chief information officer at the NSPCC said , ‘ Adapt have a dedicated team who have helped us to build the supporting technology for the new Childline website and back-office systems , which will be used by Childline when we go live in the spring 2017 .
‘ Adapt has demonstrated a clear understanding of our requirements from the very beginning , recognising the importance of building a resilient service to provide support to children and young people , 24 hours a day , seven days per week ’.
