Oxfam has over 1.5 million supporters in the UK and last year Oxfam GB directly helped 11.6 million people worldwide . It also includes the Oxfam online shop and the charity is now in the process of migrating its website and select applications to the Azure platform .
The Rackspace offering will provide crucial resilience , particularly during peak times for donations , such as a humanitarian crisis or a big event like the Glastonbury Festival . Rapid application deployment will be another benefit , where new customer facing features and internal tools can be rolled out faster than before . The service also includes ongoing architecture design , patching and monitoring , and analytics reporting .

QTS Acquires Texas Health Insurance Data Centre

QTS has become the latest data centre provider to expand its footprint in the Dallas region , Texas , through the acquisition of a $ 50m facility .
The company has purchased a 53-acre data centre campus in Fort Worth from health insurance provider Health Care Service Corporation .
The data centre currently measures 260,000ft 2 and counts with 40,000ft 2 of raised floor and an IT load of 8MW . The already built shell allows the facility ’ s raised flooring to be doubled in space as demand increases .
However , QTS ’ acquisition comes with adjacent land space that would allow the campus to be expanded to up to 300,000ft 2 of raised flooring and 60MW of power .
The facility , which already has 12 carriers , is QTS ’ second data centre in the broader Dallas-Fort Worth-Irving market and is to be used by Fortune 1000 enterprises as well as regional financial services , healthcare and technology companies .
The Health Care Service Corporation is to remain as an anchor tenant with 1MW of leased power . QTS has financed this transaction through its revolving credit facility .
