Firstnet Solutions enters the data centre arena in surprise expansion

Firstnet Solutions , the Leeds based IT managed service provider , has opened its first data centre facility in the city , allowing this growth company to dramatically increase its capacity and capability , adding colocation , cloud platforms and disaster recovery to its portfolio of services , all from its single corporate umbrella .
The facility is designed as a bespoke data centre and not a building conversion , boasting technical superiority over anything else that the area has been able to offer in the sector to date . The data centre is carrier agnostic with multiple redundant connections in common with other leading UK data centres , it also features multiple hardware failover , physical security and a low carbon footprint design .
The company is also simultaneously launching its own cloud solution , powered by Nutanix , which has been designed to deliver an enterprise cloud solution to UK customers with a strong focus on SMEs .
Firstnet Solutions ’ managing director , David Cusworth ( pictured ), commented , ‘ The opportunity to expand and invest in this amazing building to create the city ’ s first certified Tier 3 facility was too good to miss . By bringing our expertise and experience to the table , our customers will now have access to managed services and a host of additional support , including a 100 + desk office space for workplace recovery and relocation needs . The opening of the data centre will also enable us to offer vital disaster recovery services to businesses using data centres outside the area . Over the next two years , we envisage that this data centre will create more than 100 new jobs , providing an important source of local employment .’
