NEW LC CONNECTOR FROM R & M FOR HIGH PACKING DENSITY
R & M is launching a new variant of the LC fibre optic connector . The LC-QR was designed to suit a particularly high concentration of network connections , with QR standing for QuickRelease .
Most conventional LCs restrict packing density in the patch panels . However , the push-pull mechanism of the LC-QR enables denser packing in the rack and makes polarity change of wiring possible on site .
As a result , R & M has further developed the patch panels as well . 360 ports for 720 fibres can be accommodated on three height units . As a uniboot version for 1.4mm or 2.0mm cables , the new plug is a perfect solution for the reliable handling of this huge quantity of cables .

New shutter cam latch from Southco designed to prevent accidental opening
Southco has expanded its E5 Cam Latch series with a new latch designed to prevent accidental opening . The drop bushing feature of the E5 Shutter Cam Latch adds additional security by preventing the cam from rotating open in high vibration applications . The latch is designed with a spring loaded bushing that covers the driver recess . To actuate the latch , the bushing must be manually depressed . In the event that the latch is not entirely closed , the bushing remains in the depressed position , providing a visual indication that the latch is unsecured .
The E5 ’ s bushing is designed with a longer travel distance . With its flush , low profile design , the E5 Shutter Cam Latch provides a clean appearance , minimising dust and debris collection that may affect operation . The latch also meets NEMA 4 and IP65 standards for water and dust protection , as well as EN61373 , the shock and vibration standard for railway applications .
