Products & innovations Teradata IntelliFlex Delivers Performance, Storage Density and Energy Efficiency with All-memory SSD Platform With the massive growth in data, companies depend on trusted analytics to turn that data into valuable and timely insights to drive business decisions and compete effectively. With this in mind, Teradata has announced an all-memory update to its flagship Teradata IntelliFlex platform that delivers extreme performance and storage density in a single, ultra efficient cabinet. The upgrades are empowered by a move to all solid state drives (SSD), which makes it possible to reduce required data centre space while delivering a massive increase in processing power for mission-critical analytics at the speed-of-thought. Teradata also announced the new, ready-to-run Teradata IntelliBase platform – with single cabinet support for multiple software technologies, redeployable hardware, and low, commodity hardware price-point. Both products are offered on- premises, with Teradata IntelliCloud availability coming soon, and run the same Teradata database software to enable a high performance hybrid cloud solution. Together, these platforms give customers new options that can help drive new business revenue opportunities, mitigate operational costs, and accelerate customer service. Data centre designers, systems integrators and installers are constantly looking for increased build flexibility in order to offer their end user operators a shorter build completion time to provide them with return on investment at the earliest possible opportunity. The new cable assemblies address these challenges by combining a plug and play approach during assembly and installation, with a flexibility whose benefits extend from the initial design and prototyping phase to operation and maintenance activities. The assemblies are based on Harting’s Han-Eco modular connector family, which features a wide range of standard inserts that can be mixed in one connector, allowing the combination of various power requirements or even combining power and signal into a single connection point. For data centre applications, a typical installation uses 6B sized hoods and housings for cable-to-bulkhead and cable-to-cable versions, with 4-pin and protective earth inserts for either 40A or 70A current handling.
