Welcome
Thank you for your interest in Daystar Academy. It is my honor to share with you why Daystar
Academy is so special to the people who work here and to the students who go to school here.

Daystar is a bilingual immersion school merging research-based best practices in the classroom
with a school culture focused on nurturing and developing the whole child. Our school has four
key goals for our students. First, to help students master content knowledge and skills through
two languages, English and Chinese, enabling them to be truly bilingual in both languages upon
graduation. Second, to ensure that students have strong character by being caring, principled,
respectful and service oriented. Third, to ensure students have a strong foundation in Chinese
culture while being functionally proficient in western culture. Fourth, to ensure students have
opportunities to build mastery in new content knowledge and skills in areas such as sports,
visual arts, music, food sustainability concepts, public speaking and leadership readiness.
We are incredibly lucky at Daystar to have students that are hard-working, caring and
compassionate; teachers that are passionate and dedicated educators; a parent community that
is supportive; and a board that supports us in all we do.
If you are looking to provide your child with a great bilingual education that not only values
character education and has a deep appreciation for Chinese culture, but also ensures students
have opportunities to explore new concepts, ideas, skills and talents, I would encourage you to

As you know, at Daystar our commitment is to partner with parents to instill in our students
a love of learning, a desire to act with integrity and compassion, the courage to change and
inspire, and the discipline to work hard to achieve goals.
For students who are joining our Middle School, their journey will be a memorable one for many
reasons. It will be a time of change, both physically and emotionally, a time of challenges, both
personal and academic, and a time to learn and try new things.
This year our students will receive an excellent education from a professional team of teachers,
and we challenge all of our community to make the most out of this year by taking part in the
different events and activities that will be offered.
