Altares

The ofrendas (offerings) meant for the altar are collocated on the 1st and 2nd of November. The celebration is based on the belief that the souls from people's loved ones can come back to the world on those two days.

The altar is used as a way to guide the souls home; pictures of their loved ones are put on the altar as well as their favorite food. This way they can feel as though they have not been forgotten.

The souls will only take the essence out of the food and drinks so at the end of the day, the family will gather around to eat and drink the offered food.
