A youthful team that is not to be taken lightly—from market share to editorial production, we continue to gain respect globally. And what better way to celebrate our anniversary than with our "Vanity Issue"? With a little vanity comes confidence, and it's good to sometimes take a moment to reflect on your accomplishments. Vanity to me is like an alter-ego, and everyone is entitled to being vain on occasion. Join us as we explore this theme with our striking editorials this season. I often revisit my past studies for inspiration that relates to the issue at hand. Like architecture, fashion has an apparent parallelism. A popular juxtaposition—tectonics vs. ornament—accurately describes my perspective on a woman's confidence vs. her vanity. Tectonics stresses practicality, structure, and functionality—while ornament covers a vast landscape of grandeur and embellishment. I say having both is not unrealistic. With this issue the intent is to up the ante—yes, "she" is comfortable in her skin and can walk into a crowded room without self-doubt. But adding that extra accessory, hair and makeup to die for, and a killer garment can really boost her confidence and make heads turn. The runways this season brought the 70's back in full form. In line with the bold trend, our editorial team took advantage of the opportunity to bring chic, retro style to 2016. In our cover story "Pro Glamour", shot by uber-talented fashion photographer Renata Kaveh and fashion directed by our Fashion Editor, Dwayne Kennedy, we decided to go big and excessive, with overdone 70's hair, sultry fashion, and a worthy shoot location at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. Not to mention homage paid to the popular decade in our "Nostalgia" shoot—shot by incredible fashion photographer Nathan Cyprus, with fashion direction by our Assistant Fashion Editor, Nikki Kravshik. Our Coveted cast also delivered on the subject of "Vanity", creating a plethora of inspirational imagery for our Dauphine Brides and readers. From a fresh and sophisticated take on spring, to a moody and alluring shoot, to a burst of seasonal flare, they all hit the mark by creating unmatched editorial content for the bridal industry. Thank you for choosing Dauphine— I hope you enjoy flipping through the pages of this issue as much as we enjoyed creating them. After all, this dose will provide the formula for an opulent affair. krys o xox 18 | #dauphinemagazine
