ORIGIN
noun
/
or • i • gin
/ ôrəjən
the point at which something begins or rises
or from which it derives
“IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHERE YOU COME FROM,
THEN YOU DON’T KNOW WHERE YOU ARE, AND
IF YOU DON’T KNOW WHERE YOU ARE, THEN
YOU DON’T KNOW WHERE YOU’RE GOING. AND
IF YOU DON’T KNOW WHERE YOU’RE GOING,
YOU’RE PROBABLY GOING WRONG.”
As we enter a new year, we pause and reflect on the places we have been. We sift
through the layers that have made us who we are - layers that extend even beyond
our own lives. Importantly, understanding the origins of our ideas, faith, family
stories, and dreams gives us insight for the road ahead. This issue of Daughters of
Promise is dedicated to helping us study where we started, so that we may move
forward with victory, intention, and purpose into the life God has given.
