THE HEART OF
WORSHIP
I have always love to sing. My mind goes back to the
memories of elementary school, where as a young 4th
grader, I was praised for my beautiful alto voice. Fastforward a few years, and I entered the high school chorale,
where I discovered I was actually a good soprano. Even
though I was a young 9th grader, I was chosen above all the
older girls to sing a soprano/tenor duet. After that, I joined
our church chorus, and once again gained solo parts, and
the approval of the chorus director.
I went on chorus tours, and began to get caught up in the
praise I would receive from people about how beautiful my
voice was. The more praise I received, the more I sang, for
that praise from people. Even singing in church turned into
a performance, for surely the people sitting in front of me
would want to be entranced by my beautiful voice, right?
Isn’t it amazing how just when you begin to really pat
