A Letter
from Rae
A new year has come, and I wonder
where it finds you. What changes do
you face? What about the future has
you wild with excitement? Maybe an
approaching graduation, wedding,
or the birth of a child. Perhaps you
feel heaviness looking ahead, as you
face decisions and needs without easy
answers. Wherever this moment has you,
I pray you find encouragement within
the pages of this issue. I am continually
amazed at the inspiration that flows
through Daughters of Promise, much
of it coming from readers like you ordinary women sharing their stories
of walking with Jesus. Here, we want to

get real with each other, and discover
what it means to walk righteously and
faithfully before the Lord. We don’t
know what this year holds, but sisters,
let’s stand strong together! Our world is
going crazy places; it is more important
than ever that we arm ourselves with
the Word and with life-giving intimacy
with Jesus.
This issue of Daughters of Promise
was shaped around three words: cheer,
direction, and intentionality. It seems
we all need an extra dose of all three
at the cusp of a new year! January and
February can be bleak times, so here we
have assembled some excellent articles
and practical tutorials for cradling your
days with cheerfulness and purpose. I
am sure you will find them as inspiring
as I did!
As a team, we are excited about the
changes 2015 will bring to DOP. Many
visions are being cast in the background,
and we look forward to presenting the
outworking of those dreams in future
issues! Our goal is ever to preach Christ
through Biblical teaching, simplicity,
and beauty.
As the editor of this publication,
there are two issues I want to address
personally.
The first pertains to the print quality
of the last issue (Nov/Dec). You may
have noticed that the print-quality of
the Nov/Dec issue was less than perfect.
Unfortunately, these matters are out of
our control and rest in the hands of the
printers whose services we employ. We
here at DOP strive to present a magazine
