Now You Know Gladstone 55+ Center Video “ A chance to learn and to get out and to do something. Gladstone has become quite a lovely senior center.” Pat - Knitting, Dominoes “A good place to make new friends and learn more about your hobby, because there is always someone that seems to know a little more than you. Tom - Wood Carvers “We are there for sociability, for fun and laughter and snacks.” Kathy - Dominoes I could keep pulling out wonderful quotes from the Gladstone 55+ Center promotional video, but better yet, you can watch the video and hear for yourself. In September we will be showing the video at all of the activity groups as well as at the Fall FunFest. If you happen to miss one of the showings, stop by the office, we are happy to show it to you at any time. You can also watch it at home, just visit the website www.isd622.org/seniors. A very big THANK YOU to all who spoke in the video and to all who were photographed and video taped during the various activities. I was touched by the things you had to say and the fun you always seem to have when you are here, even when the camera isn’t rolling! It is all of you that make the Gladstone 55+ Center the amazing place that it is. Building District 622 Future Remodels and additions to Castle Elementary and Rich- ardson Elementary are on track to welcome students back in September. Both schools will have new main entrances designed with safety and security in mind, and updated and expanded learning spaces. Thank you voters! Projects that are part of the voter- approved bond last May are now underway. The first two projects, Carver Elementary School and John Glenn Middle School, are in the planning stages. In keeping with the Cas- tle Elementary and Richardson Elementary projects, the improvements will increase student capacity, provide safe and secure entrances in both buildings, and create flexible, innovative learning spaces for students. These projects are slated to be completed by the fall of 2022. The voter-approved bond referendum will provide funds for the improvements across the district.
