Pinochle and Cribbage at Gladstone
On Friday, September 8, two new activities began at Gladstone, pinochle and cribbage. Fran from White Bear Lake Senior Center and Denny from the DPC Center in Cottage Grove, offered a pinochle tutorial as some of the players had not played the game in a while. No tutorial was necessary for the cribbage players but if you want to play but need a refresher, they will be happy to help. Pinochle meets Friday mornings for 10 am – noon and Cribbage meets Friday afternoons from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. Join in, and if you haven’ t played in a while, no worries, all are welcome.
On Monday, Oct 2nd, Storytime followed by a related activity will be held from 12 – 12:45 pm. This program is designed for adults and youth to attend together so bring your grandchild, niece / nephew or special friend. All other services mentioned above will be available on Oct 2, as well.
On Tuesday, Oct 3, the aforementioned services will be available along with some educational classes. We are in the process of planning the exact times and class offerings so check with the ofice at 651-748-7250 for speciics and then to preregister for your class as computer access is limited.
Summer Sun = Summer Fun
The summer sun did a fair amount of traveling this summer: Cotton, MN( near Duluth) to welcome Mary Kay’ s new granddaughter, Lyla Kay; Lakewood Hills Park in White Bear Lake to cheer on the Community Bridge( adults with disabilities) team in their ball tournament; Omaha Nebraska with Francine to visit relatives; North Dakota with Cheryl to visit granddaughters and then to welcome twins Hadley and Grady, born the end of July; in and around Orr, MN( Northeastern MN) with Mary Kay on a two-week vacation; and to the Brainerd Lakes area, biking and kayaking with Cheryl. This year the summer sun traveled only with the ofice staff. Next year, how about inviting the summer sun to your family reunion, vacation or visit with family?
