Get Close to Nature in a Kayak
Experience Kayaking as you paddle around Silver Lake. No
experience necessary. Meet at Silver Lake Beach instead of
Oakdale Discovery Center for this activity. Wear shoes that
can get wet and dress in layers for time on the water.

Who was that Masked Bird?
With 174 species of birds found in Oakdale Nature
Preserve, this is a great place to learn the basic skills
that will help you find and identify birds. Class will start
outdoors with a walk in the preserve followed by an indoor
review session. Class fee includes a book for beginning
birders. Bring a pair of binoculars if you can and dress for

Paper Making
Learn the paper making process and then enjoy a brief walk
in the park collecting leaves, seeds, bark and other media
that will add texture and interest to the additional sheets
of paper that you create in class. Dress for the weather and

Learn how to identify bluebirds, their call, migration,
nesting habits, and about the bluebird house project while
walking along the Gateway Trail. Wear comfortable

Wildwood Elementary School parking lot instead of the
