Program and District Updates
Preschoolers Learn about Needlework
You’re never too young to learn to knit or crochet!
The ladies in the needlework group, which meets on
Wednesday mornings, welcomed the opportunity to
show off their baby blankets, knit hangers and afghans
as well as demonstrate how they knit and crochet.
The preschool
children asked lots
of questions and
enjoyed feeling
the various yarns.
The children will
be back to show
the ladies their
completed class
project.
Coming this Summer - Energy Efficient
Windows
You may have seen “hard-hats” and “clipboards”
roaming the halls recently. These belong to the various
engineers that are finalizing the work plans for the
installation of the energy efficient windows at Gladstone
this coming summer - this is such exciting news!
Weaver Elementary will be the summer home for the
Senior and Meals on Wheels programs. Yes, we are
planning to move all activities so you won’t have to miss
a date!
Weaver Elementary is just north of Gladstone by .4 of a
mile (just beyond Robinhood park) at the intersection of
County Road B and Birmingham St.
Since everything is still in the planning phase, the exact
date for the move to Weaver has not been determined
yet. More information to come.

White whicker furniture first appeared in the lobby
nearly 3 years ago, creating a comfortable gathering
area and a place to view the preschool and senior
Painting Pals’ creative work. Next came display cabinets
to showcase creative work that can’t hang on the wall.
The receptionist desk has been moved to its new
location to give a better view of the doors. Additional
security cameras now line the exterior of the building
allowing for better parking lot and door surveillance.
A large screen TV in the lobby will direct participants
to classes and activities as well as advertise upcoming
district events. New tables and chairs and energy
efficient windows are planned for this summer. Why
you might ask? To better serve you.
Welcome to the ever improving Gladstone 55+ Center.
