Data Driven Issue 02
THE IT ROADMAP
CONTINUED...
Delivery and implementation began in January and
February with the first factory, wind tunnel and trackside
software releases. By March, when the racing season
started, 120 hours of design time had been saved. It
was as if Avanade had given the team an extra designer
for six months. By China, the fourth race, the team had
made 50 trackside software releases and by May the
factory’s IT systems had received 20 upgrades.
“Avanade hit every deadline, through testing and then
to the first race which we won, so things started very
well,” confirms Taylor. “The second half of the year saw
the pace of our information systems development
grow even faster, with Avanade further enhancing
systems and playing a greater role in the direction of
development.”
By June, Lotus F1 Team and Avanade had racked
up 100 software releases and by July reduced the
time processing statistics from telemetry data by a
remarkable 60 -80 percent. Two minutes per transaction
had been saved on importing telemetry data.
