We see this in business in general:
competitive environments change,
industry regulations change, and
Avanade is there to help its clients
make the best use of technology,
meet their business challenges
and achieve results. For this
reason, 2014 is going to be an
exciting opportunity to show what
Avanade can bring to the party.
With Formula One cars changing so
comprehensively between this year
and next there’s a lot of weight on
the shoulders of Avanade’s software
engineers to deliver the best possible
performance.
In addition to the design challenges,
the Electronic Control Units that
act as the brains of F1 cars will be
eight times bigger next year, which
means the teams will have much
more data at their disposal – which
is both a benefit and a challenge,
and Avanade’s software will help
them to process it and make better
decisions based upon it in a more
streamlined fashion. With just five
weeks between the first winter
test in January and the first race in
Melbourne in March, the heat is on
to overcome any major issues with
the car, invent solutions, design it,
manufacture it and test it, so careful
planning is extremely key.
Due to the all-new performance
characteristics of the cars, there
will be a heavy impact on strategy
and this will be crucial to success
on track above all else. The types
of data and how it is presented
to the engineers will change too.
It is this challenge that Lotus F1
Team and Avanade are taking on
together, to redefine those systems.
In this third issue of Data Driven we
will look at the seismic changes that
will affect 2014 and the importance
of data analysis in meeting
businesses’ performance goals.
This is very much in the spirit
of Formula One – facing a new
challenge, figuring out the best
options, and driving to realize
results.
