I DO NOT LIKE TO DWELL ON POLITICAL OR SOCIAL ISSUES.
What’s integral to the work of an artist?
Observation. And the fundamentals. If one wants to break the rules, you need to know the rules by heart. That’s important. Little knowledge is dangerous.
What’s the one experience that you think has shaped you the most as a person?
There are a few. But I’ll just speak about one. Very early on in my life, I was a jeweller, which was my family’s profession, that I entered into as a kid. I spent years learning the craft of creating jewellery out of gold with my hands. However, the moment when I decided to abandon that part of my life and move into the field of concept art or pre-production (at the time), it was one of the most challenging experiences of my life. The consequences that came with it, changed me intellectually, personally, mindfully and shaped me into what I am today.
How does your work comment on current social or political issues?
Do not like to dwell on social or political issues. Personal choice.
What’s next from Saad Irfan?
