City offices
City offi ces are located at 460 Third Street, on the corner of
Third St. and Parker Ave. (Highway 12). Postal address is City of
Dassel, PO Box 391, Dassel, MN 55325.

To reach city hall by phone, call 320-275-2454; hours are 8
a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Friday.
The City Clerk’s offi ce, library, and community room (call to
reserve) are all conveniently located in city hall.
The City Clerk’s offi ce provides information to citizens and
visitors, issues building permits, and oversees utility services.
City Council
Mayor Ron Hungerford, 320-275-2454. Council members:
James Hallquist, Andrew Carlson, Lynn Holloran, and Tom Weseloh.
Regular Council meetings take place at 7 p.m. the third
Monday of the month at the city hall, and special meetings
are scheduled at times as needed to carry out the business of
the city.
The council encourages residents to participate on various
boards and committees. Contact the clerk’s offi ce for more

City staff includes: Terri Boese, Clerk/Treasurer; Tracey Bergum,
Deputy Clerk; Mitchell Otten, Public Works Director; Carolyn
Holje, Museum Director; Dave Johnson, Fire Chief; and
Marvin Vetsch, Liquor Store Manager.
Planning and Zoning
The Planning and Zoning Commission meets as needed
about matters dealing with signage and land use regulatory
controls.
Law enforcement
The City of Dassel contracts with the Meeker County Sheriff’s
Department for law enforcement services. Contact the department
at 320-693-5400, or in case of emergency, dial 911.
Winter parking
Dassel has an ordinance which regulates the parking of
vehicles during the winter months. There is no parking on city
streets during and up to 48 hours after a snow event.
Snowmobile ordinance
The City of Dassel snowmobile ordinance limits snowmobiles
to one trip out of town, and one trip into town only. No snowmobiling
is allowed in the city from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Pet ordinance
Stop in at City Hall to get your dog license. The license fee for
spayed or neutered dogs is $5. The regular license fee is $10. Licenses
must be renewed annually, and they expire December
31. Dogs must be leashed or under the control of a responsible
person. Dogs running at large will be picked up. The fee for an
unlicensed dog pick-up is $50.
Utilities
Water and sewer services are provided by the City of Dassel.
Bills are sent out by the 10th of each month and are due by the
last day of the current month. Water services may be turned
off for non-payment.
Before you sell your property, an inspection of the sanitary
and stormwater sewer connections must be completed and
certifi cate of compliance issued by the City. If a line needs
