Libraries are kno own as quiet places, bu ut that doesn’t mean
the ey’ree not bustling with activity.
In Dasse el and Cokato, library patrons have access ces to boo oks,
magazines, read ding programs, childre en’s activities, comput-
ers with internet access s, downloadable e-books,
and a wide
variety of free e programs.
Cokato Library
The Cokato Public Library is a branch of the Great River Re-
gional Library ry System, which allows patrons access to nearly
1 million books, audio books, DVDs, CDs, magazines, azin news-
papers, per and more in 32 libraries in
the GRRL system. st With a
GRRL library ry card d, patrons can also access digital materials
including eBooks, eAud diobooks, eComicbooks, oks, Music, and
Movies/TV to stream. The Cokato Library has three public in-
ternet computers and wireless internet et access.
The Cokato Library is located on Broadway Avenue and
Fourth Street. Hours are: Monday, 2 to 6 p.m.; Tuesday, 2 to
8 p.m.; Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Thursday, 2 to 8 p.m.;
Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to

Dassel Library
While things look different during the pandemic, Dassel Library
is continuing to make knowledge and resources available
to the community in a safe way.
Dassel Public Library is offering curbside pickup of library
materials. This popular service provides appointments for
library patrons to pick up books, movies, CDs, magazines,
and even newspapers outside in a contact-free manner.
Materials can be ordered online through the catalog or by
calling the library to order with assistance from a staff member.
Library staff can choose a selection of materials meeting
the general interests of the person making the request, or
specifi c titles.
Dassel Library is one of 32 libraries in the Pioneerland Library
System, so patrons have access to nearly 650,000 library
items, including things for young and old, and for
learning and entertainment.
Pioneerland also provides a digital collection through
Overdrive, with over 4,500 ebooks and 1,600 downloadable
audiobooks. These virtual resources have been tremendously
popular in recent months, and new books are added
all the time. Instant digital cards are available through Overdrive
for those who live in the library system but don’t have a
physical library card.
Story Hour with Elisabeth is posted on Facebook on Fridays
at 10 a.m., with the lively and familiar routine of songs, stories,
and simple crafts geared to little ones. Archives of online
story hours can be accessed anytime through the Dassel Library
Facebook page or the Dassel Library website.
This year’s summer reading program is called Dig Deeper:
Read, Investigate, Discover! Dassel Library will offer the familiar
summer reading game sheets for tracking time spent
reading as well as outside activity, reading aloud to others,

and other special activities. Completed reading logs can be
turned in for a choice of prizes. The library is planning fun activities
for kids that can be picked up to be done at home, or
that involve doing self-paced activities outdoors.

Through Pioneerland, Dassel Library has just launched a
new homework help resource, Brainfuse HelpNow. This is a
free online tutoring service for grades K-12 which provides
access to one-to-one homework help from live online tutors
each day from 2:00-11:00 p.m., covering all major subject
areas. It also includes an adult learning center with practice
tests and other online resources. HelpNow is accessible from
home through a link on the library’s website.
Everyone in Minnesota has access to eLibrary Minnesota
and Ebooks Minnesota through the state library agency. At
elibrarymn.org, libraries offer access to magazine and newspaper
articles, encyclopedias, test prep resources, and resume
help. This is especially useful to students of all ages. The
Ask a Librarian feature provides 24/7 access to live chat assistance
by a librarian.
Ebooks Minnesota is the Minnesota Digital Library, a collection
of books from the state’s independent publishers.
These titles are available for an unlimited number of people
to read at the same time. One Book | One Minnesota, the
new statewide book club, offers the current title through this
website.
Just for kids
Both the Cokato and Dassel libraries have a variety of programs
designed just for little ones.
In Cokato, a variety of summer activities and challenges
will be offered. Participants will create their own reading and
