Winter parking Dassel has an ordinance which regulates the parking of vehicles during the winter months. There is no parking on city streets during and up to 48 hours after a snow event. Snowmobile ordinance The City of Dassel’s snowmobile ordinance limits snowmobiles to one trip out of town, and one trip into town only. No snowmobiling is allowed in the city from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Pet ordinance Stop in at City Hall to get your dog license! The license fee for spayed or neutered dogs is $5. The regular license fee is $10. Licenses must be renewed annually and expire on December 31st. Dogs must be leashed or under the control of a responsible person. Dogs running at large will be picked up. The fee for an unlicensed dog pick-up is $50. Utilities Water and Sewer services are provided by the City of Dassel. Bills are sent out by the 10th of each month and are due by last day of the current month. Water services may be turned off for non-payment. Before you sell your property, an inspection of the sanitary and stormwater sewer connections must be completed and certifi cated of compliance issued by the City. If a line needs to be replaced, it is the owner’s responsibility to pay for the repairs from the city main to the home. Contact the Clerk’s offi ce for more information 320-275-2454. Garbage Pickup The City of Dassel contracts with Waste Management for residential garbage and recycling pickup. Residents should have their cans curbside by 7:00 a.m. every Monday, except holidays, when garbage pickup falls on Tuesday. Recycling is every other week. See the City website for a calendar of recycling pickup. Post Offi ce The post offi ce is located at 501 Second Street. Window hours are Mondays through Fridays 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Closed Sundays and holidays. Food Shelf The Dassel Area Food Shelf, located at 531 Atlantic Avenue West, is open Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and is operated by the Meeker County Emergency Food Shelf.
