Kingston Legion The Johnson Kelly American Legion Post 483 in Kingston was founded in 1961, with George Saukkola Sa ukkola as commander. The club welcomes new members, and participates partici pates in fun activities through the University of Minnesota Extension Service. Meeker County Horticultural Society Socie The Meeker ker County Horticultural Society began in 1989, with 20 members from Dassel, Da Cokato, Eden Valley, Litchfi eld, Paynesville, and Watkins. Watkin The club’s objective objectiv is to help members learn more about gardening dening and the outdoors. outdoors There are currently 30 members, who meet the second Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. on the second fl oor of the Meeker County Family Services building in Litchfi eld. (The society does not meet in January, February, July, or August.) The meetings include informational speakers who share their ir expertise on trees, shrubs, landscaping, garden design, and attracting birds and butterfl ies.
